DJI Osmo 360 II Has Arrived: Next-Generation 8K 360° Imaging
A new generation of immersive content creation is here.
DJI has officially introduced the DJI Osmo 360 II, bringing major upgrades to its 360° camera platform for creators, travellers, action-sports enthusiasts, vloggers and professionals.
Building on the original Osmo 360, the new Osmo 360 II combines native 8K/60fps 360° video, 14.5 stops of dynamic range, AI SuperNight 2.0, 120MP panoramic photography and replaceable lenses in a compact 183g body.
For Canadian creators looking for a camera that can capture virtually everything happening around them—and decide on the framing afterward—the Osmo 360 II represents an impressive step forward.
Native 8K/60fps 360° Video
One of the biggest upgrades is the ability to capture 8K/60fps 360° video.
DJI says the Osmo 360 II uses an advanced 1-inch square HDR imaging sensor with large 2.4 μm pixels. The new design delivers up to 14.5 stops of dynamic range, helping preserve details across bright skies, shadows and challenging high-contrast scenes.
That makes the camera particularly attractive for skiing, cycling, motorsports, travel, outdoor adventures and other situations where the action is happening in every direction.
Better Low-Light Performance with AI SuperNight 2.0
The Osmo 360 II isn't designed only for bright outdoor conditions.
DJI's new AI SuperNight 2.0 uses an upgraded AI noise-reduction algorithm to produce cleaner and brighter footage in difficult lighting. Combined with the larger imaging system and expanded dynamic range, this gives creators more flexibility when filming sunsets, city scenes, events and nighttime adventures.
Replaceable Lenses — A Major Upgrade
Perhaps one of the most practical improvements is the introduction of user-replaceable lenses.
360° camera lenses naturally protrude from the body, making scratches a major concern. DJI has addressed this with an ultra-hard optical coating designed to improve scratch and wear resistance. If a lens is damaged, it can now be replaced instead of potentially sidelining the entire camera.
For action-sports users and frequent travellers, this could be one of the Osmo 360 II's most valuable upgrades.
120MP 360° Photos & 16K Timelapse
The Osmo 360 II isn't just about conventional video.
Creators can capture 120MP HDR 360° photographs, while the new 16K 360° Timelapse mode provides extremely high-resolution sequences for landscapes, clouds, cityscapes and changing environments.
DJI has also introduced some impressive high-speed creative options, including 8K/120fps Vortex and up to 64× Pano Slow Motion in post-production using AI frame interpolation in DJI Studio.
Shoot First. Frame Later.
One of the biggest advantages of 360° capture is that you don't always have to decide where the camera should point while you're recording.
Capture the entire environment and choose your perspective afterward.
DJI has made that workflow easier with Spotlight Follow, which can intelligently keep a subject centred even as the camera rotates, reducing the amount of manual reframing required during editing.
The Osmo 360 II also adds NFC connectivity, allowing quicker connection to the DJI Mimo app for transferring and editing footage.
Designed for Adventure
Despite its powerful imaging capabilities, the Osmo 360 II weighs just 183g.
It's waterproof to 10 metres without an additional case, can operate at temperatures as low as -20°C, and DJI offers an Invisible Waterproof Case for diving to depths of up to 50 metres.
Those capabilities make it suitable for everything from:
- Skiing and snowboarding
- Mountain biking and cycling
- Motorcycling
- Diving and watersports
- Hiking and travelling
- Vlogging
- Automotive footage
- Creative social-media content
More Storage and Longer Shooting
Creators also get 105GB of usable built-in storage, giving you substantial recording capacity even before adding a memory card.
DJI rates the camera for up to 100 minutes of continuous 8K/30fps recording, while fast charging can restore the battery to 80% in approximately 22 minutes. Adding DJI's Battery Extension Rod can provide up to another 180 minutes of runtime under DJI's specified testing conditions.
Professional Colour and DJI Audio
Every video format now supports 10-bit colour, along with DJI's D-Log M colour profile, giving experienced creators considerably more flexibility when colour grading footage.
Audio has also received attention. The Osmo 360 II incorporates a four-microphone array with wind-noise reduction and supports direct connection with compatible DJI wireless microphones through OsmoAudio.
